Private Medical Colleges Warned For Demand of Fee by the Pakistan Medical Commission PMC Islamabad not to ask for fees before closing Government Medical Colleges. Private Medical Colleges force students to pay admission fees, which is contrary to the PMC admission policy that was communicated to all medical schools. It has been taken seriously by the Commission. In the event of any student bringing a complaint, strict disciplinary proceedings against the college will be instituted under the applicable provisions of law. All private medical/dental colleges have been directed to comply with the Regulator’s directives. They do not charge fees for the merit list, which is following the regulations.

Private colleges are being criticized for not only violating the above timelines but also uploading a provisional merit listing on the PMC portal. Instead, colleges are forcing students to deposit fees and display the merit list on their websites.

PMC Warns Students Not to Submit Advance Fees

It has been taken seriously by the Pakistan Medical Commission PMC. If any student pays the fee before closing admissions at public sector colleges, the Commission will initiate disciplinary proceedings against them. Under the applicable provisions of law, strict disciplinary proceedings against such colleges will be initiated. All private colleges are directed to comply with the regulations. They are not allowed to display merit lists, charge fees, or offer admission to students unless they are admitted to public colleges.

The Pakistan medical commission has advised students not to pay the tuition fee in advance. The concerned authorities have issued a notice stating that certain medical institutions demand that the tuition fee for next year be paid in advance. If this is not done, the institution will take legal action against the student. The PMC clarified that the demand and action against students are illegal and must be stopped immediately.

The Pakistan medical commission directed that the fees are collected only after the professional exam is completed and the results are declared. Only candidates who have passed their professional exam can request the fee for the following academic year. Medical colleges cannot ask for the fee before the conduct of the annual exams. All medical colleges, including those in Islamabad and Lahore, have been asked by the PMC to follow the directives of the commission. The PMC has also asked all private and government medical colleges in Pakistan to retract these demands and immediately post the retraction on the website. If they fail, then the law will apply.
