Eligibility Criteria to Apply

• Pakistani/AJK nationals
• Have completed MS,MPhill or equivalent degree(18 years of education from HEC Recognized Universities)
• Age limit maximum 40 years for regular faculty and researchers of public sector universities/R&D organization and 35 years for all others.
• Have acquired valid GRE and TOEFL scored required for admission in US universities.

Selection Formula for Selected Candidates

• A minimum GRE score of 60 percent is given to applicants with higher scores.
• Students who have had their GRE disqualified by the host institution must take part in the HAT exam with a minimum of 60 percent marks.
• Additional students must meet the eligibility requirements of the chosen institute/university.
• HEC AEF formula 30 percent
• The student will not be able to avail of any other scholarships.

Main Objectives of the Project 

1. To substantially increase the quantity and the quality of faculty at Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
2. To increase and enhance the research and academic capability available to The Higher Education Institutions of Pakistan by providing trained personnel to improve the quality of education and cutting-edge research.
3. To train approximately 1,000 prospective students annually to take university entrance exams like GRE and IELTS/TOEFL under the “Talent Farming part” program.
4. The program will establish the possibility of a partnership between Pakistani and well-known US institutions to exchange innovative research methods focused on Pakistani requirements.

Categories of HEC PhD Scholarship 2024 For US Universities

Category I:

• The Scholarship (Top 50 QS World Classified US universities):
• To be eligible for this type of award, potential applicants must meet the following criteria:
• We are securing admission to the top 50 QS World Classified US universities.
• Valid GRE General Score (Minimum 300 points in the total) or HAT Score (Minimum 60 60% Score)

Category II:

• Scholarship (Top 300 QS Global Classified US universities):
• To be eligible for this scholarship, the prospective candidate must meet the following criteria
• Securing admission to the top 300 QS World Classified US University.
• Valid GRE General Score (Minimum 300 points in all) or HAT Score (Minimum 60 percent score).
• It is important to note that GRE in the form of General and HAT scores are not necessary if admission is secured through an entire tuition waiver.

HEC-Aptitude Test

Education Testing Council (ETC) Pakistan will be conducting HEC Aptitude Test (HAT) on the date announced (tentatively).
