MDCAT Aggregate Formula is the formula behind a candidates overall merit to enroll in a university college of medicine and dental colleges. The standard weightage would be as below:
- Matriculation (SSC): 10%
- Intermediate (HSSC/FSc): 40%
- MDCAT Score: 50%
To calculate your aggregate:
- Multiply your Matriculation percentage by 0.10.
- Multiply your Intermediate percentage by 0.40.
- Multiply your MDCAT score (out of 200) by 0.50.
- Sum all the results to get your aggregate score.
For instance, if a candidate has 90% in Matric, 85% in Intermediate, and scores 150/200 in MDCAT:
- Matric: 90 * 0.10 = 9
- Intermediate: 85 * 0.40 = 34
- MDCAT: (150/200) * 100 * 0.50 = 37.5
Total Aggregate = 9 + 34 + 37.5 = 80.5%
This aggregate determines the candidate’s position in the merit list for admissions.
The final merit for MDCAT-based admissions is calculated as follows:
- Matric (SSC) Marks = 10%
- FSc (Pre-Medical) Marks = 40%
- MDCAT Score = 50%
Example Calculation:
If a student scores:
Matric: 90%, FSc: 85%, MDCAT: 150/200
Aggregate Formula:
(90 × 0.10) + (85 × 0.40) + ((150/200) × 100 × 0.50) = 80.5%
MDCAT Test Syllabus 2025 (New)
MDCAT 2025 is a test based on five major subjects, and the paper involves 180 questions in the form of a multiple-choice (MCQ). Each of the topics has certain weight in the entire paper. Biology has got the highest weightage of 45% (81 MCQs) and Chemistry has 25% (45 MCQs) and Physics 20% (36 MCQs). The other segments are the English and the Logical Reasoning with 9 MCQs each and a contribution of 5 percent each.
