Importance of English in Pakistan and in our life

A language is tool by using that a person can be able to communicate his feelings to another person. So for the purpose of communication a common language of the world is necessary and that is English. English is a West Germanic language that was first spoken in Anglo-Saxon England in the early middle Ages. It is now the most widely used language in the world. It is considered the universal language of the world. It is the third most common native language in the world, after Mandarin and Spanish. It is the first language of the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand and a number of Caribbean nations. There are about 375 million native speakers (people with first language as English) which are ranked as third language that shows the Importance of English Language.

It is English that plays the vital and important role in spreading scientific knowledge. There is in fact no branch of study that has not been communicated in English. The original writings of great scientists, economists, philosophers, psychologists and others who did not speak and write the English language have all been translated into English. Therefore, one who has a good knowledge of English has access to all the sources of information.

English language has universal use and appeals as a language of science and technology. Developing and poor countries like the Pakistan, India and other south Asian and gulf countries can’t afford to conduct independent research all the important fields’ science. The science is almost used in fields like the agriculture, industry, health, education, communication and even the everyday life matters. So the English is the best language for these countries to borrow these researches from the advanced countries.

On the internet the majority of the websites are written and created in the English language. Even sites in other languages often give you the options of the English language. English language is a living stream of world knowledge. Hence we cannot cut ourselves of this body of word knowledge by giving up the study of English we run the risk of knocking the bottom off our higher education for which we mainly draw upon its resource and hospitality.

On the other in the Pakistan the English has key importance in Pakistan. Pakistan is the developing country has the import the technology from the other western countries and to operate these technologies English is the necessary language. All the computer languages are uses as its base language.  The Pakistani students go abroad like the USA, Canada, UK and many other European countries for the study and the scholarships. In the abroad they have to face the many challenges, and they can handle easily if they have the access on the English language.
