In this poem beautiful poem, the poetess says that man’s life is what his thoughts make it. Happiness is not a matter of externals but depends upon one’s way of thinking. She learns this lesson from a blind boy who presents to her a withered flower when she is sitting on a bench under a willow tree in a dejected mood. The boy is happy though he is blind while the poetess is sorrowful in spite of all the comforts of life at her disposal. This incident brings a total change in her life. She decides to enjoy the beauty of the world and appreciate every moment of her life.
