Law Graduate Assessment Test Registration Last Date Test Schedule
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has declared the Law Graduate Assessment Test (Law GAT) 2025, as the registration will begin on 15th September 2025 online. The test is essential in anyone who wants to have a career in law in Pakistan and a requirement to those who want to be enrolled in the legal degree programs. Online registration ends on 30th September 2025 and interested candidates are therefore encouraged to ensure they are registered before this time. Upon successful registration, the candidates are allowed to get their Roll No Slips and follow up on key instructions regarding the test. HEC Law GAT 2025 test will take place on 19th October 2025 and the candidates are required to present the roll number slip at the intended test centers. - What is the Law-GAT and why is it important?
The Law Graduate Assessment Test (Law-GAT) is conducted by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) through the Education Testing Council (ETC). It is mandatory for law graduates in Pakistan who want to qualify for enrollment as an advocate with the Bar Council. Passing Law-GAT is the first step toward practicing law professionally.
- Who is eligible to take the Law-GAT?

- How many attempts are allowed for Law-GAT?

The test consists of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) only.
- What is the passing/qualifying score for Law-GAT?
Candidates must score 50 out of 100 (50%) to qualify.
- How do I choose a test center for Law-GAT?
While registering, candidates can select a test center from the available list on the ETC website. The test will only be held in cities where there is a minimum of 100 candidates.
- Can I change my selected test center after registration?
No. Once selected, the test center cannot be changed. The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
- How do I get my Roll Number Slip for Law-GAT?
The Roll Number Slip will be available for download from the ETC portal at least one week before the test date. Candidates will also receive an email or SMS.
- What documents should I bring on the test day?
You must bring:
- Roll Number Slip (printed copy)
- Original CNIC or Passport
- What documents are required to register for Law-GAT?
You need:
