The Joint Centralized Admission Test (JCAT) was established in the year 2016 in the Health Department with the cooperation of King Edward Medical University Lahore, University of Health Sciences Lahore, and Fatima Jinnah University Lahore. JCAT is an entry test to be used for admission to MD/MS/MDS courses in different Public Hospitals and Institutes in Punjab. For private institutions, Sharif Medical City Lahore is required to pass this test in order to be admitted into its courses. After passing the test, candidates are able to apply for admission into the Punjab Residency Programme (Central Admission Policy).
