NAT is the abbreviation of the National Aptitude Test conducted by the National Testing Service. It is a compulsory test for admissions of those universities which are associated with NAT. NAT test basic categories
- Category 1 (Candidates having 12 years of Education appear in category tests.)
- Category 2 (Candidates having 14 years of Education appears in category two tests.)
Category 1 Test
Six types of tests were conducted in one test. It has a total of 90 questions to attempt.
- NAT-IE (For students of Pre-Engineering Group).
- NAT-IM (For students of Pre-Medical Group).
- NAT-IA (For students of Arts Group).
- NAT-ICS (For students of Computer Science).
- NAT-IGS (For students of General Science).

Category Two tests
Five types of tests lies in category two tests. Category two tests have total of 100 questions to attempt.

NAT MCQs Test Preparation Tips
NAT test is an MCQs based paper. There are the following 4 sections of the NAT test of both above-mentioned categories.
- English
- Analytical
- Quantitative
- Subject
English Test Syllabus
English is consists of five types of question
- Sentence completion (with appropriate option)
- Analogy (Relationship between pairs of words)
- Antonym (opposite words)
- Comprehension (answer of question by given paragraph)
- Synonym (Similar meaning words)
Analytical Test Syllabus
Candidates are supposed to select the correct option after analyzing the given statement, scenario or complex situation. It is judged for the analytical skills of students.
Quantitative Test Syllabus
This portion is consisting of three types of questions. The questions are simple but involve some tricks. Types of questions are in these forms.
- Arithmetic
- Algebra
- Geometry
Subject Test Syllabus
It is different in all kinds of NAT tests. In this section, candidates are asked questions about their key subjects in their last class. For example, students of FSC are asked the question of chemistry and physics while the students from commerce subjects are asked about accounts. NTS NAT Test Passing Strategies:
As to attempt NAT test successfully requires special strategies so students should follow the following strategies to the pass NAT test easily.
- NTS examinations are time-limited, so the students should not waste their time right from the start of the paper to go through all of the questions.
- Questions are divided into parts e.g English, quantitative, qualitative. First, select that part for which you feel yourself more confident regardless of order.
- Some question statements are tricky but not difficult in actuality. Don’t be panic. Read them carefully and understand them with basic knowledge and present mind.
- Read each question at least two times before you encircle the answer.
- Don’t miss any questions. You must check your answer sheet in the last two minutes to label such missing and fill them.
- If you have confusion regarding a certain point (not picked so well), don’t leave it unanswered. Guess the most appropriate answer and encircle it because there is no negative marking.
Format and Pattern of NAT Test
We are providing the format and pattern of the NAT test for the assistance of students. These 90 questions are asked in the category 1 test and 100 questions are asked in the category two test. In both tests, students are given two hours (120 minutes). In both categories, equal numbers of questions are asked in the first 3 portions.
