KPK 11th Class Biology Chapter 4 Bioenergetic Short Questions Answers

State the role of carbondioxide as one of the raw materials of photosynthesis.

Carbon dioxide is used as one of the raw material for photosynthesis. The carbon of CO2 is fixed in organic compounds in photosynthesis. In the absence of CO2, the process of photosynthesis does not occur.

What is the main differebnce between cyclic and non cyclic photophorylation.

In cyclic photophesphorylation, the electrons get expelled by the photosystem I. and return to the system.
On the other hand, in non cyclic phosphosylation, the electrons that are expelled by the photosystem do not return.

Define glycolysis.

Glycolysis is the breakdown of glucose (6-c) molecules up to the formation of two pyruric acid (3-c) molecules and a net gain of two ATP molecules.

What do you mean by chemiomosis?

The synthesis of ATP from ADP and inorganic phosphate in the electron transport system through the joint event of chemical and osmotic processes is called chemiosmotic ATP synthesis.

What is photorespiration.

This process is called photorespiration b/c in the presence of light (photo), oxygen is taken up and CO2 is evolved (respiration).
