مرزا غالب کے اخلاق نہایت وسیع تھے۔ وہ ہر شخص سے جو ان سے ملنے جاتا تھا۔ وہ نہایت کشادہ پیشانی سے ملتے تھے۔ جو شخص ایک دفعہ ملتا، اسے ہمیشہ ملنے کا اشتیاق رہتاتھا۔
مرزا غالب سوستوں کو دیکھ کر باغ باغ ہو جاتے تھے۔ مرزا دوستوں کی خوشی میں خوش اور غم میں غمگین ہوتے تھے۔
مرزا غالب کو دلی سے بلکہ پورے ہندوستان سے خط آتے تھے۔ کیونکہ پورے ہندوستان میں ان کے ہر مذہب او ر ہر ملت کے بے شمار دوست موجو د تھے۔
مرز ا کو اکثر لو گ بیرنگ خط بھیجتے تھے مگر ان کو کبھی ناگوار نہ گزرتا تھا۔
سائل ان کے دروازے سے خالی ہاتھ بہت کم جاتا تھا۔ ان کے مکان کے آگے اندھے، لنگڑے، اور اپاہج مرد و عورت پڑے رہتے تھے۔ وہ سائلوں کی مدد اپنی بساط سے زیادہ کرتے تھے۔
مرزا اپنے دوستوں کے ساتھ نہایت شریفانہ سلوک کرتے تھے اور ضرورت کے موقع پر ان کی مدد بھی کرتے تھے۔
مرزا کے مزاج کی خاص خوبی ان کی ظرافت تھی۔ اس لیے انہیں حیوان ظریف بھی کہا جاتا ہے۔
مرزا غالب کو آم بہت پسند تھا۔
