اقبال نے بابائے اردو مولوی عبدالحق سے وعدہ کی کیا کہ اگر ان کی صحت نے اجازت دی تو ضرور کانفرنس میں شریک ہو ں گے۔ انہوں نے یہ بھی کہا کی وہ ان کے خیالات اور تجاویز سے کلی اتفاق کرتے ہیں اور بہر صورت ان کا ساتھ دیں گے۔ اور یہ کہ میں اردو زبا ن سے دینی عصبیت کی طرح لسانی عصبیت بھی رکھتا ہوں۔
اقبال کا خیال تھا کہ ایک فنڈ اکٹھا کرنے کا مسئلہ زیر بحث آسکتا ہے مگر عام مسلمان کی مالی حالت کمزور ہے۔ مسلمان امرایہ کام کر سکتے تھے، مگر وہ سب مقروض ہیں۔ دوسرا مسئلہ انجمن ترقی اردو کے صدر مقام کا ہے کہ یہ کہاں ہو۔ اقبال کے خیال میں یہ لاہور میں زیادہ بہتر رہے گا۔
اقبال کی بصیرت کے مطابق آنے والے دور میں اردو زبان کے تحفظ کے لیے میدان پنجاب ہی میں لگے گا۔ ان کی تربیت کی ضرورت ہے۔ دوسری بات انجمن اردو جو پبلشنگ ہاؤس قائم کرنا چاہتی تھی وہ پنچاب ہی میں بہتر ہو گا کہ یہ پبلشنگ کا مرکز ہے اور یہاں طباعت بھی مسلمانوں کے ہاتھ میں ہے۔یہاں کے سادہ لوگ اثر فورا قبول کرتے اور عمل کرتے ہیں۔
اقبال نے ایک مغربی حکیم کے حوالے سے دہی کے استعمال پر زور دیا کہ یہ ان جراثیموں کی ختم کرتی ہے جو انسانی صحت کے لیے نقصان دہ ہیں۔ انہوں نے والد محترم کو تجویز دی کہ آپ کا گلا خرا ب رہتا ہے اس لیے ترش کی بجائے میٹھی لسی استعمال کریں۔
اقبال کا کہنا ہے کہ کھانے پینے کی چیزوں میں احتیاط کی جائے تو یہ روحانی کیفیات کے لیے مفید ہے انہوں نے اس کے لیے نبی پاک ﷺ کے با احتیاط رویے کی مثال دی۔ یادرہے کہ کم کھانا اور کھانے پینے کے آداب کے مطابق چلنا صحت کے لیے مفید ہے اور اقبال خود ان رویوں کو اپنانے کے لیے کوشاں رہے۔
