FAQs
Q: How can I check my AIOU result by Roll Number only?
A: While the CMS requires a User ID and Password, some third-party sites and older AIOU history links (http://result.aiou.edu.pk/) allow searching by Roll Number for previous years. For 2026 current results, you must use the CMS portal.
Q: What should I do if my result shows “Re-appear”?
A: “Re-appear” means you failed the final exam but passed the assignments. You do not need to take fresh admission; simply register for the supplementary exam when the schedule is announced.
Q: How do I calculate my GPA?
A: Your GPA is calculated based on the credit hours of the course and the grade points earned (as shown in the grading table above). The CMS portal automatically calculates your SGPA (Semester GPA) and CGPA (Cumulative GPA).
Q: Where can I get my official degree?
A: After completing all credit hours, you must submit a degree application form (available on the AIOU website under “Downloads”) along with the fee to the Controller of Examinations.
