Riphah International University, Islamabad is an independent University founded in 2002 by the Federal Government of Pakistan. The university was founded with the intention of producing professionals who adhere to Islamic moral and ethical standards. It is financed by a trust for not-for-profit purposes, specifically, the Islamic International Medical College Trust (IIMCT) which was founded in 1995. The first venture from the IIMCT is its Islamic International Medical College, Rawalpindi founded in 1996 by its founding Managing Trustee, Major. Gen. (Retd.)
