Federal  Public Service Commission FPSC in Pakistan is an autonomous Body Established for the Purpose of Recruitment of executive post  on various departments of the Federal Govt as well.It works in a very transparent and clear manner.The Fundamentals of recruitment process are accomplished through this body from written test phase to final selection respectively.

General Recruitment Policy

Advertisement of Posts:

Recruitment to BS-16 and above posts, other than 12 Occupational Groups/Services, which is made through CSS Competitive Examination, is processed under General recruitment system. The recruitment process is initiated by the Commission on receipt of Requisition to fill the posts from the concerned Ministry/Division, which is advertised in all the leading National Dailies on first Sunday of every month.

FPSC advertises jobs on the first Sunday of each month.As per decision of the Commission 15 days time is given to the candidates to apply against any post advertised by the Commission, for which they qualify.Application fee is Rs.300/- for BS-16 and 17, Rs.750/- for BS-18,Rs.1200/- for BS-19 and Rs.1500/- for BS-20 and above posts.

No change in the data can be made online by the applicant themselves after they submit application online, as already mentioned in guidelines for applying online. The candidate may send his request duly signed alongwith a copy of his CNIC addressed to the Secretary, FPSC for any correction, after applying online.Dual nationality holders can apply against the posts advertised by the Commission, however, they will have to surrender their foreign nationality and inform the Govt. before joining Government Service.

Scrutiny of Applications/Documents:

The applications received for general recruitment are scrutinized, keeping in view the advertised conditions/recruitment rules. The applicants, who fulfill all the advertised conditions, qualify for interview and remaining are rejected with right of representation/appeal, as per law/rules.

Written Tests:

In general recruitment cases, the Commission hold written tests, in order to assess the relative technical and professional ability of the candidates, syllabi for written tests is placed at FPSC Web Site under heading Tests & Interviews well before schedule of tests.

Interviews:

The candidates qualifying such written tests subject to their eligibility and availability of respective quota vacancies, etc are called for interviews, which are held at FPSC Headquarters and its four Branch Offices located at Provincial Headqurters.

Recruitment Policy:

The allocation of posts to merit and provincial / regional quotas is made according to government’s policy  is as under:-

MERIT/PROVINCE/REGION QUOTA

  • Merit 7.5 %
  • Punjab (Including Federal Area of Islamabad) 50 %
  • Sindh (Including Karachi) 19%

The Share of Sindh will be further sub-allocated in the following ratio:

  • Urban Areas, namely Karachi, Hyderabad & Sukkur 40% of 19% or 7.6%.
  • Rural Areas i.e. rest of Sindh (Excluding Karachi, Hyderabad & Sukkur, 60% of 19% or 11.4%. 19 %)
  • KPK 11.5 %
  • Balochistan 6 %
  • Northern Areas and Federally Administrated Tribal Areas 4 %
  • Azad Kashmir 2%

Women Reserved Quota: 10% Women quota will be observed / calculated from the share of each province / region in terms of Establishment Division’s O.M. No.4/15/2006-R-2, dated 22.05.2007. The unfilled vacancies shall be carried forward.It Contains the 6 commission members and 1 chairman for supervision and operating the structure as well.
