Once there were two friends in a village. They decided to go to a city to find work. On their way, they had to cross a jungle. Suddenly, they saw a bear coming. One friend quickly climbed up a tree to save himself. The other friend didn’t know how to climb, so he lay down on the ground and held his breath. The bear came and sniffed him. Thinking he was dead, the bear went away. The friend on the tree saw everything. When the bear was gone, he came down and asked, “What did the bear say in your ear?” The other friend replied, “He said not to trust a false friend.”

As they were walking, they suddenly saw a bear approaching. One of the friends, who was quick and knew how to climb, immediately ran up a nearby tree to save himself. The other friend did not know how to climb, so he quickly lay down on the ground and held his breath, pretending to be dead.
The bear came near and sniffed him carefully. Thinking the boy was dead, the bear quietly walked away.
After the bear disappeared into the forest, the friend on the tree came down and asked, “What did the bear whisper to you?”
The friend replied, “He told me not to trust someone who runs away in times of trouble.”

For 11th Class Student
Two childhood friends once set out on a journey to the city, hoping to find work and build a better future. Their path led them through a thick and silent forest.
While they were walking, a large bear suddenly emerged from the bushes. Startled, one of the friends, without thinking twice, climbed up a nearby tree and hid among its branches, leaving his friend behind.
The second friend, knowing he couldn’t climb, remained calm. He had heard that bears do not harm dead bodies. So, he lay still on the ground, holding his breath.
The bear slowly approached, sniffed him from head to toe, especially near his ears and mouth, and then quietly walked away, thinking the boy was lifeless.
When the danger had passed, the first friend came down and nervously asked, “It looked like the bear said something to you—what did he whisper in your ear?”
The other replied, “Yes. He advised me never to trust a friend who deserts you in the time of danger.”
Moral: True friendship is tested in difficult times.
