My Watch

For 8th Class Student

Time is very important in life. The Holy Quran also teaches us the value of time in Surah Al-Asr. I still remember when I got my first watch in Grade 5. It was a gift from my uncle, and I was so happy to receive it.

The watch came in a transparent box. Inside it was a small note that said: “Time is priceless, so never lose it cheaply.” That message stayed in my heart.

My watch is black in color. It has a metallic dial and a plastic strap. The numbers and hands shine, so I can see the time even in the dark. The brand CASIO is written clearly in the center.

It has three hands:

  •     The hour hand (short and thick),
  •     The minute hand (longer and thin), and
  •     The second hand (long and red).

The machinery of the watch is of very good quality. Even after two years, it still works perfectly. I learned how to read time from this watch. It also has an alarm that wakes me up in the morning. It helps me be on time in studies and sports.

Though it was a gift, I once saw its price in the market — it was about fifteen hundred rupees. I take great care of it and never wear it while doing rough tasks.

My watch helps me stay punctual and disciplined. I am an athlete, and I use it to improve my running time. I believe that whatever profession you choose, having a good watch helps in managing time.

A good watch is not just a tool, it is one of the best things a student can have. It improves the quality of life.
