An Accident

For 8th Class Student 

Yesterday, while I was coming back from school, I saw an unfortunate accident. I was walking on the footpath with my friends. Everything seemed normal, and we were busy chatting.

Suddenly, we saw a young boy running on the road. He was trying to catch a flying kite. At the same time, a cyclist came from the opposite direction. The boy didn’t see the cycle because he was looking at the kite, and the cyclist also didn’t notice the boy.

They collided with each other. The cyclist fell down and landed on the boy. To save himself, the cyclist put all his weight on his hands and elbows. Both of them were injured and people nearby rushed to help. They were taken to the hospital.

My friends and I were very shocked. Later, we heard from our school watchman that the boy’s leg was broken and the cyclist’s arms and hands were bruised.

This accident taught us a very important lesson. My friends and I promised to be more careful on the road. Life is very precious, and we must always stay safe and alert.

For 9th Class Student 

Accidents are sudden and unexpected events that often cause injury or loss. Yesterday, I witnessed a road accident that left a lasting impression on my mind.

I was returning from school with my friends, walking along the footpath. The street was calm, and we were engaged in light conversation. Suddenly, a boy about ten years old darted onto the road in pursuit of a kite drifting away in the wind. At that very moment, a cyclist was approaching from the opposite direction. Both were unaware of each other’s presence—the boy’s eyes fixed on the kite, and the cyclist’s attention distracted by the busy street.

Within seconds, they collided. The impact threw the cyclist onto the boy, and both crashed to the ground. The cyclist instinctively tried to protect himself by extending his arms, but this only resulted in bruised elbows and hands. The boy screamed in pain, clutching his leg.

People nearby ran to their aid, and soon a small crowd gathered. Some men lifted the injured and rushed them to the hospital. Later, we learned that the boy had suffered a fractured leg while the cyclist had sustained minor injuries.

The incident reminded me how fragile life is and how a moment’s carelessness can lead to serious consequences. We must always remain alert on the road, whether walking, cycling, or driving.

For 11th Class Student 

Accidents are unforeseen events that often result from a moment’s negligence, and they serve as sobering reminders of the need for vigilance. I witnessed one such incident yesterday, and its memory still lingers vividly in my mind.

I was walking home from college with two classmates, enjoying the warm afternoon and the easy rhythm of conversation. The street was moderately busy, with vendors calling out their wares and children playing near the sidewalks. Suddenly, a boy of about ten broke free from a group of children and sprinted across the road, his eyes fixed on a kite swaying high above.

From the opposite direction, a young man on a bicycle was pedalling steadily. His attention, too, seemed divided, perhaps by the noise and movement around him. Neither the boy nor the cyclist saw the other until it was too late. In a heartbeat, they collided. The bicycle tipped sideways, throwing the rider onto the boy. The cyclist landed heavily on his forearms, scraping his skin, while the boy cried out in agony, clutching his leg.

Bystanders rushed forward. Someone called for a rickshaw, and both injured were quickly transported to the nearest hospital. Later, I learned that the boy’s leg was fractured and the cyclist had sustained deep bruises on his arms and palms.

The entire episode unfolded in less than a minute, yet it carried a lasting lesson: roads demand complete attention. Whether pedestrian or rider, every individual has a responsibility to act cautiously, for life is too precious to risk through carelessness.
