Established in 2005 by the Government of Punjab, the Punjab Education Commission (PEC) has been assigned the duty of conducting the 5th and 8th class examinations all over Punjab. There are currently 36 districts in the province of Punjab including Attock, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Gujrat, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Lodhran, Mandi Bahauddin, Multan, Sargodha, Sheikhupura, Khushab, Kasur, Khanewal, Muzaffargarh, Narowal, Nankana Sahib, Bhakkar, Sahiwal, Vehari, Jhelum, Chakwal, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Layyah, Chiniot, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Lahore, Jhang, Rawalpindi, Mianwali, Okara, Pakpattan and Sialkot.

Just like always since its establishment, the PEC had again organized the annual 8th class examination this year. After completing the registration process during last year, the exams were conducted in the month of February this year. The exams consisted of total 5 subjects which held in the month of February 2024.
