Punjab Health Insurance Card Online Application Forms Registration Open

Under the supervision of Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif, the government of Punjab has been working continuously working towards improving the quality of health facilities in the province. So as a part of its continuous efforts, the government has decided to launch a health insurance scheme to improve the standards of health facilities for poor families living in Punjab.

CM Punjab told about health insurance scheme while addressing the 47th convocation of College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan. He said that improving the health facilities standards is extremely important and no negligence or any other kind of interference will be tolerated in health or education sectors. He also said that the Punjab government has spent billion of rupees for providing modern health facilities to common people and will continue to do so in future as health sector is one of the top priority of the Punjab government.

He also added, “Sri Lankan, Indonesian and Singaporean experts acknowledged that they came here to teach about dengue, but they returned home with a lot of knowledge they acquired from experts here.” He also said that polio has been eliminated almost all over the world, but Pakistan, Nigeria and Afghanistan are the three countries which are still affected by Polio.

Under this scheme, health insurance cards will be issued to poor families through which they will be able to avail quality treatment facilities at hospitals without paying any money for it. The whole treatment expenses of the health insurance card holders will be paid by the Government of Punjab from its Rs.45 billion budget for health sector.

The Chief Minister of Punjab, Mian Shahbaz Sharif has said that he believes that receiving proper medical facilities is the right of every human being whether he is rich or poor and in light of this vision, CM Punjab has taken the initiative of introducing health insurance scheme. At first, the scheme will be launched in only 4 districts of Punjab including Rajanpur, Chakwal, Layyah and Hafizabad. Once the scheme will be introduced successfully in these districts, it will be expanded to other districts of Punjab too.
