Having been established in 1975 in the form of an up-gradation of the already working religious university Jamia Abbasia, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur started its operations with a limited amount of degree programs due to the limitation of resources but it has kept expanding its operations continuously which is why now the university is offering education in over 74 disciplines.

The tests usually take place in September. Prior to that, the registration process is carried out. Students must submit their registration forms and pay the fee by the end of the date. If they aren’t able to submit the form on time, they need to submit a double (or triple) fee. This means that they must complete the form before the deadline of the first day. Eligibility for IUB Undergraduate Admission 2024

Listed below are the complete eligibility criteria related to the qualification which must be fulfilled to be considered eligible for admission in any offered program.

• For all bachelor’s programs other than PharmD, BSc Engineering, and BEMS & BHMS, a minimum 2^nd division in intermediate is required.
• To get admission in BSc Engineering, at least 60% marks in FSc (Pre-engineering), Math, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, DAE, or equivalent examination.
• For PharmD, a minimum of 60% marks in FSc (Pre-Medical)/ B.Sc. (Pre-Medical) are required.
• Minimum 50% marks in FSc (Pre-Medical) are required for BEMS & BHMS.
• No 3^rd division is acceptable in Intermediate for admission in any bachelor’s program.

Along with fulfilling these requirements related to the qualification, some programs require candidates to appear in a NAT test too in which the minimum required score is 60%. In addition to that, passing the ECAT Test will be compulsory for Engineering programs while ECAT/MCAT results can also be considered equivalent to NAT for some programs.

Bahawalpur was always an academic center. Uch Sharif (a nearby town) was one of the biggest institutions on the globe. scholars from across the globe used to study. In continuation of this tradition, a religious University (Jamia Abbasia) was founded within Bahawalpur in 1925 in the wake of the academic activities of Jamia Al-Azharin Egypt. The world-renowned scholars spread the message of Islam through the teaching of Tafseer, Quran, Hadith, Fiqh, and History as well as other modern areas.

With regard to the changing situation, Jamia Abbasia was declared a general institution in 1975. In the following year, it was named The Islamia University of Bahawalpur. It was initially established in the Abbasia as well as Khawaja Fareed campuses with ten departments. To build an efficient and self-contained campus 1250 acres of property were leased to the University located on Hasilpur Road about eight kilometers away from the city center.

In an effort to offer opportunities for higher education to young people close to home two campuses were created in Rahim Yar Khan as well as Bahawalnagar in 2005. In the beginning, Departments of Management Sciences Computer Science & Information Technology were created, and the response was extremely positive. The number of departments at Bahawalnagar, as well as Rahim Yar Khan Campuses, has been expanded by seven to six respectively.
