The Punjab Education, Curriculum, Training and Assessment Authority (PECTA) is the official assessment body responsible for conducting Grade 5 and Grade 8 examinations across Punjab. Previously known as PEC (Punjab Examination Commission), the examination system has now been fully transitioned to PECTA.

For the 2026 academic session, PECTA 8th Class Annual Examinations are expected to be conducted in February 2026, following the same province-wide, uniform assessment pattern adopted in previous years. The 8th class date sheet 2026 will be announced 3–4 weeks before the commencement of exams.

All 36 districts of Punjab will follow the same date sheet and exam schedule, ensuring transparency and standardization across government schools, private schools, and registered private candidates.

About PECTA

  • Student assessment at Grade 5 and Grade 8
  • Curriculum-based testing
  • Uniform exam administration across Punjab
