Laborers, miners, and their dependents are eligible for full tuition scholarships at COMSATS Lahore and Islamabad Campus under the Punjab Workers Welfare Board (PWWB). Workers and their dependents are eligible for a 30% quota in all COMSATS single-degree programs. Scholarship applications for the COMSATS Employee Welfare Fund will be accepted until December 29, 2022. Comsats Labor Quota 2023 Admission and Scholarship
If an individual meets the criteria for “worker” as set forth in the
Industrial Relations Act of 2010, then that individual is eligible to work in the labor department. The worker needs to show proof of social security eligibility.
The employee must have worked for at least one year in a plant or mine that is licensed under the Factories Act of 1934 or the Mines Act of 1923.
An establishment shall be considered a factory if it meets the criteria for such an establishment set out in the Companies’ Profit Workers Participation Act of 1968 or the Workers’ Welfare Fund Ordinance of 1971.
Comsats Labor Quota 2023 Admission and Scholarship
The children of employees who died on the job or were disabled while mining are also welcome to apply for this scholarship, so long as the worker’s widow or legal heir received a Death Grant from the Punjab Workers’ Welfare Board or a pension from the EOBI/Social Security.
Neither the worker/miner nor his child should have any history of criminal conduct or any legal actions.

Eligibility PWWB-COMSATS Scholarship Criteria
Here, the employee must have these requirements. A person is a labor department worker if he meets the Industrial Relations Act, 2010 definition of a worker. Secondly, the worker needs a valid SSN. Thirdly, the worker must have 1 year of work experience under the Factories Act 1934 or Mines Act 1923.
An organization is a factory if it meets the Workers’ Welfare Fund Ordinance 1971 or the Companies’ Profit Workers Participation Act 1968 criteria.

Also, children of deceased/disabled workers are also eligible for this scholarship, which provides the worker/ miner deceased/ disabled during service. Importantly, the candidate must sign Rs. 20 affidavits. However, stamp Paper states that if he/she stops schooling, he/she will repay the Labor Department.

Scholarship Continuation
However, this scholarship is for 8 semesters or the length of the student’s degree program. A student who repeats a course or semester must pay CIIT’s fees.
